Counsellor / Psychotherapist

BSc (Hons) Psych, MBPsS, Dip (Counselling) Reg. MBACP, Dip (CBT)

Welcome

"EVERY JOURNEY STARTS WITH A FIRST STEP"- Lao Tzu

A very warm welcome to my Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice which is based in Bournemouth, Poole, and London, United Kingdom. Often taking the first step and seeking support is the hardest. I understand that it can be daunting trying to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with and can connect with. I’m so glad you are here and looking for support and a way out of that emotional pain. My goal is to support you to get to a life that is rich and fulfilling with an internal sense of calmness, confidence, resilience and having deep and meaningful relationships. I am able to offer a safe and confidential, respectful and non-judgemental space to explore the problems you are currently experiencing and we can work collaboratively together to gain an insight and understanding of how to move forwards in a positive direction and find ways to make those positive steps to where you would like to be.

My Specialist Interests

GAINING INSIGHT & UNDERSTANDING

Whilst I work with a broad range of concerns, I have a particular interest of helping adults who have unhelpful coping strategies that keep them stuck, such as eating too much or too little; drinking too much; withdrawing into themselves; and/or working harder to activate perfectionist and self-destructive behaviours.

I specialise in Eating Disorders which include Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder. I also work with overeating and  obesity, and I am a practitioner of the National Centre for Eating Disorders (NCfED) in the UK. In conjunction with this, I work with Neurodiversity (including those on the Autistic Spectrum).

I specialise in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's), Complex Trauma and PTSD, Sexual Trauma, Self-harm and Suicidal Ideation. I have spent the past few years working as a therapist for a local charity in Dorset who specialise in helping adults survivors of childhood abuse and it has been a privilege to work with some inspirational adults who have overcome childhood adversity.

I also specialise in Anxiety and Depression, and help clients with long-term illnesses such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), Fibromyalgia, and long-term disabilities. I work in a holistic sense, combining therapy with nutritional intervention to suit the client's particular needs.

Since the Covid-19 Pandemic, I specialise in loss and bereavement which includes complicated grief, and incorporate different methods to accommodate the complexity of the issue.

A Profound Impact

IN A SAFE SPACE

Take your first step now towards living wholeheartedly and get in touch. I offer a FREE 15 minute consultation, either by ‘phone or online, to give you an opportunity to find out more about the way I work in my therapy practice, and whether I offer what you are looking for, without obligation by clicking on the "Get in Touch" button below.

During the initial consultation session, we will talk about your situation, what you are seeking from therapy and your background, as well as how we could work together towards your personal goals, such as developing coping strategies or having support for a specific difficulty in your life, or goals that require longer-term work and open-ended therapy, such as on-going life situation, childhood trauma or multiple stressors in your life.
